Marcella Grass “Cella” Parker, age 80, a resident of Summerdale, Ala., passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at a local hospital.
Cella wore many hats over her years of employment, some of which included Poser Printing, Chemstrand and Vanity Fair.
She retired from Gulf Telephone Co. after many years of service as a telephone operator.
She was a charter member at Fairhope Avenue Baptist Church for over 50 years and a member of Fairhope Community Church.
Cella was an active member of the Marlow community, where she took pride in maintaining the flower bed located at Highway 32 and County Road 9.
She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary 5660 of Fairhope, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fonso Parker.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan K. Johnson and Cecila (Mickey) Havard, both of Summerdale, Ala.; two sons, Billy Kent Johnson of Summerdale, Ala. and Jeffrey (Alice) Johnson of Ocala, Fla.; one brother, Andrew Jack Grass of Water Valley, Miss.; sister-in-law, Iris Hayes of Foley, Ala.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 11a.m. at the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, beginning at 9a.m.
Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
