Margaret Anne “Peggy” Kustura, 89, of Mobile, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016.

She was born and raised in Mobile and lived there until 1950 when she met and married the love of her life, Frank Kustura for nearly 25 years. Shortly thereafter, they moved to California and in 1960, returned to Mobile.

You could always find her in her yard tending to her beautiful azaleas and camellias. Peggy enjoyed her daily handfuls of chocolate, and was the “life of the party.”

She never met a stranger, and was one of happiest ladies you’d ever meet. She always had a good time playing bingo with her friends, listening to her favorite Elvis songs and hopping up to dance to any song that was playing that she liked.

She loved her family and her friends and they loved her, too.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Frank; and her sisters, Helen Strauss and Kathleen Shipshinski.

Surviving are her son, Frank Kustura Jr. of Daphne; two daughters, Mary Anne (Jerry) Jones of Superior, Mont. and Frances (Rob) Ivey of Foley; three sisters, Patricia Feore of San Marcos, Texas, Joan Doll of Houston, Texas and Mary Grace (John) Hughs of Mesquite, Nev.; four grandchildren, Stephen (Orsola) Nelson, Derek (Kelly) Bruhl, Anna Ivey (Kevin) Ritz, Robyn Ivey (Barrett) Tynes; and four great-grandchildren, Maya and Lilly Bruhl, Reece and Sawyer Tynes; and many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of Peggy’s life will be held at noon, Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016 at Hughes Funeral Home in Daphne.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m.

Though the family welcomes flowers, they are suggesting that memorial donations in Peggy’s honor may be made to The American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231, or at www.heart.org, for AFIB research and cure.

Expressions of condolence may be offered at www.hughesfh.com.
