Marie McDuffie Dean, born July 1, 1919, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2011.
She was born in Samson to Edwin and Ada McDuffie and moved to Fairhope in 1951. She was a past member of the Fairhope Chapter 127 Order of the Eastern Star and held many offices. She was a faithful member of the Fairhope United Methodist Church since 1951.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Leslie Dean; son, Charles Edward Dean; and one grandson, Charles Weslie Dean.
Survivors include a sister, Eddie Mae (Benton) Owens of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; two sons, Richard (Marlene) Dean of Barnwell and Dale (Julie) Dean of Pensacola, Fla.; five grandchildren, Gary (Ola) Dean, Cindy Dean, Jackson Dean, Vicki Dean and Sonny (Shea) Dean; eight great-grandchildren, Steve Dean, Jessi (Shawn) Carlton,Dennis Dean, Vladimir Reeves, Tanner Morgan, Jeremy Cox, Alex Carlton and Brian Dean; and one great-great-grandchild, Nathan Richard Morgan.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Fairhope United Methodist Church building fund.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
