Marion N. Fosberg was born on Feb. 28, 1922 and went home to be with the savior on Feb. 19, 2015 at the beautiful age of 92.
The oldest child of Harold C. and Ruth Fosberg, she is survived by her brother, Malcolm H. Fosberg and his wife Josephine; her nephew, Larry M. Fosberg and his wife Betty; and her niece, Sandra Fosberg Boyd and her husband John.
These were her family, along with lots of great nieces and nephews who will always remember their Aunt “Mar” with love and kindness.
Marion was born in New Orleans, and moved to Silverhill when she was very small. She attended Silverhill School and later graduated from Robertsdale High School.
She joined the Nurse Cadet Corps out of high school, and studied nursing at the Mobile Infirmary Nursing School.
Later, she moved to Jackson, Miss. where she completed her nursing degree and began work at Baptist Hospital. She worked there for 47 years as a surgical nurse until she retired at age 72.
She was very active in First Baptist Church in Jackson, teaching Sunday school and even worked as a missionary nurse with other nurses and doctors in Honduras.
She moved back home to Silverhill in 2005 and continued her love for church, returning to First Baptist Church of Silverhill where she grew up as a child. She loved her Faith Sunday School Class and was active until the day she passed.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, at 10 a.m., at Silverhill First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tim Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Silverhill Cemetery.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be given in her memory to Silverhill First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 246, Silverhill, AL 36576.
