Olene Morris Martin, 79, a native of Baldwin County and a resident of Robertsdale, died Wednesday, April 2, 2008.
After graduating with honors from Baldwin County High School, she began her career at Baldwin County Savings and Loan, now Wachovia Bank.
She married Arthur C. Martin on Nov. 6, 1947. She was a lifetime member of New Hope United Methodist Church; served as chairwoman of the Administrative Board and as vice president of the United Methodist Women Association; active member of the PTA at Rosinton and Robertsdale School; Bay Minette Saddle Club and Alabama Cow Bells; goodwill ambassador for the Pen Air Federal Credit Union which she shared with her husband during his term as director and chairman of the board.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur C. Martin and her parents, Peter Morris and Emma Jernigan Morris..
Survivors include a daughter, Judy M. (Jim) Busby of Robertsdale; two sons, Pete M. (Tammy) Martin of Robertsdale and Lee A. (Barbara) Martin of Scotland; brother, Jack Morris of Robertsdale; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 10 at the New Hope United Methodist Church in Gateswood with the Rev. Rodney Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Larry Morris, Leon Morris, Bill Morris, Gene Barnett, Joe Barnett and Butch Waters.
