Marvin Duwane Hayes, 72, a native and life long resident of Rosinton, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2010.

He was a 1956 graduate of Robertsdale High School. He was a shift engineer at Scott Paper Company for over 25 years. He loved to fish, travel, and share produce from his garden with the community. He also donated his time, service and gifts to help build local ball parks and construct roadways and parking areas for local churches.

He was preceded in death by father, Albert Hayes; brother Jimmy Hayes; and sister, Doris Hayes.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, JoAnn Hayes of Rosinton; three children, Donna (Ronnie) Hinote, Dewane (Carmen) Hayes and Darrell Hayes, all of Rosinton; his mother, Estelle Hayes of Rosinton; sister, Christine Darby of Rosinton; five grandchildren, Ronnie and Steven Hinote, Marideth and Claire Hayes, and Ashton Hayes; one great-grandchild, Lexi Hinote.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4 at Mack Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Robertsdale with Father William James officiating. Burial will follow at New Cooper Cemetery, Rosinton.

The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Patrick School, P.O. Box 1367, Robertsdale, AL 36567.
