Mary Frances O’Brien Sims, age 95, of Orange Beach, formally of Selma, passed away Aug. 8, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Emmett McClain Sims the love of her life; parents, John Roland O’Brien Sr. and Beulah Blanche Butler O’Brien. Survivors, one brother John R. O’Brien Jr., Montgomery; daughters, Gloria McClain Sims of Orange Beach/ Lillian; and Rita Sims Franklin formerly of Selma; granddaughters, Mary Frances Sims Crump, of Orange Beach, Gloria McClain Sims Crump of Gulf Shores, Susan F. Wilhelm of Birmingham, and Sarah Franklin of Florence. Graveside services will be Saturday Aug. 11, 11:30 a.m. at New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma. The family will greet friends at Lawrence Brown Service Funeral Home during visitation from 9:30 -11a.m. prior to the graveside service to celebrate her life. Mary Frances was born May 11, 1917. She was a very active business- woman in the community. After retiring from Sims Furniture where she and her husband had worked for over 40 years, she moved to Orange Beach. The family would like to thank the staffs at both Robertsdale Health Care Center and Odyssey Hospice for their kindness and devotion to her care.
