FOLEY, Ala. - Mary's Shelter Gulf Coast will host the sixth annual Charity Golf Tournament Aug. 26 at Craft Farms in Foley.

ickets to the event cost $125, and include an 18-hole round of golf, a golf cart, lunch, driving range balls, time on the putting range and mulligans. Teams signing up for the tournament should be in groups of four, and hole sponsorships are available. Individuals also can sign up separately.

"Individuals can sign up, but they'll be placed with other groups," Sally McKinney, Mary's Shelter board of directors member, said.

"A lot of the prizes are golfing accessories as well as Craft Farms items. We're having a meeting this week, so I'm not sure of all the pries yet."

The event will benefit the shelter, which provides a Christian home for pregnant women. It also provides counseling, job training, GED instruction, parenting classes, money management help and other essential advice to help the mother develop character, maturity and responsibility.

The shelter, a non-profit Baldwin County United Way Agency based in Elberta, offers housing and support to homeless pregnant women of Escambia and Santa Rosa counties in FLorida as well as Baldwin, Mobile and Escambia counties in Alabama. The shelter is funded y individual donations, fundraisers and grants.

The event also will include a 50/50 drawing that started at the shelter's Monte Carlo Night on June 4 at St. Lawrence Parish Center in Fairhope. The drawing will conclude at the tournament after the players finish their rounds of golf.
