ORANGE BEACH, Ala. — Ballet Met principle dancer Jon Drake will present his second Master Class at Gulf Coast Ballet’s Orange Beach studio at The Wharf on July 9.
GCB director Kathleen Tucker said his first class in June was so loved by the students, they begged to have him return.
“Mr. Drake is one of those rare people who is not only a very gifted dancer, but also an exceptional teacher,” she said. “He teaches both excellent technique and a deep love for the art of performing.”
Drake is currently with Ballet Met in Columbus, and has filled that position at Oregon Ballet Theater, Eugene Ballet and Ballet Idaho.
He began his dance career in Dusseldorf, Germany.
The following three classes will be offered:
•Group A for ages 9 and up with two-thirds of a year experience, 11 a.m. until noon.
•Group B for ages 12 and up with four or more years dancing experience, 12:15-1:45 p.m.
•Variations for Group B students, 2-3 p.m.
Each class costs $25.
