Matthew Pritchett Dial Jr., 90, a native of

Thomaston, Ala. and longtime resident of Fairhope, passed away

Monday, Oct. 31, 2011.

Mr. Dial was a retired Army Air Corp captain.

He has been a member of First Baptist Church of Fairhope since

1951, where he was the first treasurer and a former music

director.

Mr. Dial was preceded in death by his wife,

Doris Smith Dial; and daughter, Victoria Elaine

He is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth

“Libby” Dial Higgins and her husband, Ronald, of Palm Coast, Fla.

and Amy G. Dial of Fairhope; grandchildren, Matthew Colby Joyner of

Fairhope, Christopher “Chris” Russell Joyner and his wife, Carla,

of Daphne, Andrew “Drew” Tucker Lindsey and his wife, Crystal, of

Loxley, Katherine S. Pilkerton and her husband, Michael, of

Birmingham and Sarah Lindsey Stroecker of Atlanta;

great-grandchildren, Tucker Brylan
