Dorothy Jean Mays, 85, born March 17, 1924 in Pulaski, Tenn., a former resident of Creola and a resident of Fairhope, died Friday, May 1, 2009.
She was the postmaster of Creola.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Fairhope.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Lee Mays, her parents Columbus Hugh and Octavia Elizabeth Woolley, and a brother, Hugh Henry Woolley.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Mays (Bob) Jones of Birmingham and Lisa Mays Street of Fairhope; four grandchildren, Lee Aston (Elizabeth) Jones of Nashville, Tenn., Andrew Stuart Jones (fiance Mia Poston) of Birmingham, Hilliary Everett Street and Philip Vaught Street, both of Fairhope; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services and visitation were held Sunday, May 3 at the First Baptist Church of Fairhope. Graveside services and interment followed at Creola Cemetery.
