Leroy McCraney, 78, a native of East Brewton and a resident of Fairhope for over 50 years, died Saturday Jan. 16, 2010 at his residence.

He was an active member of the Fairhope Church of Christ for 23 years and served his country during  the Korean conflict in the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by a son, Brad McCraney.

Survivors include his wife,  Elaine McCraney of Fairhope;  two daughters, Jackie (Pete) Yruegaz of Houston and Christina  McCraney of  Huntsville; son, Wade McCraney of Little Rock, Ark.; nine grandchildren, P.J. Yruegaz, Phillip Yruegaz, Thelma Flint, Pamela Yruegaz, Stephen Yruegaz, Scott McCraney, Kule McCraney, Miranda Dodd and Marissa Newsome; and three great-grandchildren, Stephan Yruegaz, Annabell Yruegaz and Christopher Flint.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19 from the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens of Fairhope.
