MOBILE—A 42-point first half and a scoreless second made for a contrast at Lipscomb Stadium Friday. McGill-Toolen Catholic scored 28 and Daphne 14 in the first two periods before both defenses took over.

The Yellow Jackets scored first on a Preston Messer to Matt Delaney pass from 41-yards out on their first possession. The Trojans came back with a 76-yard march capped with a 15-yard TD toss from Russ Mosley to Isael Lamprakes. DHS went up 14-7 on another Lamprakes score, a 13-yard run off an inside handoff from TJ Yeldon in at quarterback and Brandon Roberts added the PATs.

McGill then took advantage of DHS turnovers. Yeldon fumbled at the DHS 24 on the first play of the second quarter and Mc-T took it in to tie at 14-14 on a Derric Burell run. Yeldon then fumbled on the kickoff at the DHS 21 and McGill went up 28-14 three plays later on a Watson run of 24 yards after a second down loss of three.

Except for the fumbles, Yeldon was the DHS offense piling up 156 first half yards and finishing with 179 of the Trojans' 302 total. Mosley was 13 of 23 with two interceptions late in the comeback attempts for 123 yards passing.

DHS and McGill are now 1-1 in 6A Region 2 play. DHS will host Murphy Friday at 7 p.m.
