Lloyd P. McGough, 84, a native of Louisiana and a resident of Spanish Fort, for the past 40 years, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008 at W. F. Green Veteran's Home in Bay Minette.
He retired from the Mobile Mill after employment with International Paper for 40 years. He served as a first lieutenant in the Army Air Corps from 1944 to 1946.
He was an active member of New Life Assembly Church in Spanish Fort.
He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Lloyd McGough.
Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Margaret McGough of Spanish Fort; four daughters, Jan (Lloyd) Pennington and Ann (Pat) Hipp of Bastrop, La., Brenda (Alvin) Lunsford of Butler and Elizabeth (Walter) Cochran of Dayton, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Jane McGough of Spanish Fort; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, neices, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Daphne. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. at Jubilee Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jimmy Watson from Butler First Assembly of God, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Hollis Powell of Bay Minette.
Pallbearers will be Alvin Lunsford, Steven McGough, Shane McGough, Lloyd Pennington, Pat Hipp and Jake Jordan. Honorary pallbearers, will be Art Perez, Lloyd Pitts, Jonah Pitts, Arnold Clark, Larry Davis and Keith Pennington.
