Baldwin County Republican Party chairman Don McGriff is a candidate for the Alabama Senate District 32 seat in the primary election slated Aug. 7.
McGriff is a former member of the Baldwin County Board of Education and was the Republican Party nominee for Lt. Governor.
He has a background in business and engineering.
“My business experience has given me a strong work ethic, my work on many local civic boards has given me an understanding for community service and my time spent with the governor and in the capitol has given me a solid respect for and understanding of the legislative process,” McGriff said.
“I am dedicated to bring this experience to the job of state senator where I am confident I can be a productive and effective voice for Baldwin County.”
He is a Rotarian, an alumnus of Leadership Baldwin County and a member of Baldwin County United. He also has served on the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce board and numerous civic- and community-based organizations.
After his honorable discharge from the U.S. Marine Corps, he moved to Baldwin County, where he has lived for 35 years.
He is married to Jeanne Kelly McGriff and they have two children and five grandchildren. He holds a law degree from Jones School of Law.
