Marvin L. “Mac” McInnis Sr., 77, a native of Waynesboro, Miss., and a resident of Silverhill, Monday, June 23, 2008, surrounded by his beloved wife and his children after a long illness.
He was dearly loved by his family and was owner/operator of McInnis Electrical Company for over 30 years.
He served his country in the U.S. Army Medical Corp. during the Korean War. He loved and served his community and was voted the 1995 Silverhill Man of the Year.
He was known for smiles, hugs and a loving nature.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ramona; and two grandchildren, Tracy and Mitchell.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Nelline McInnis of Silverhill; two daughters, Sharon (Eric) Forsman of Silverhill and Donna (Jack) Beck of Robertsdale; two sons, Marvin L. “Mack” (Renee) McInnis Jr of Semmes and Kenny J. (Dana) McInnis of Silverhill; two sisters, Jenny Lee Brown and Ruth Clifton, both of Saraland; two brothers, John T. McInnis of Ozark and Brown Brazwell McInnis of Saraland; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 25 at Mack Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 26 from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Mike Megison and the Rev. George Sedberry officiating.
