Mackey McKenzie , 80 , a lifelong resident of Barnwell, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007 peacefully at his home after a brief illness.
He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean war.
He earned a chief engineering license. He sailed oil tankers for 20 years. He was a farmer for 40 years and was awarded Alabama Top Pecan Grower in 1996.
He was a member of the Masonic and Shriner organizations and enjoyed playing golf..
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Iris Helen McKenzie of Fairhope; two daughters, Natalie (Greg) Oliver of Gulf Shores and Karen (George) Radcliff of Saraland; three grandsons, Christopher and Chase Oliver of Gulf Shores and Jonathan Felter of Saraland; two grandaughters, Allie Oliver of Robertsdale and Courtney Felter of Century, Fla., one great-grandson, Kaiden Oliver of Gulf Shores.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12 at Brook-Cedron Cemetery in Barnwell. Visitation was held Sunday, Nov. 11 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope.
