William “Skip” Caldwell McNeil III, 62, formerly of Louisville, Ky., died Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Thomas Hospital, Fairhope.
He was an aircraft maintenance supervisor for the U.S. Air Force. He also was a Vietnam War veteran and received many military commendations. After his service in the Air Force, he started a second career with the United Parcel Service; and he was a member of the Highland American Legion Post.
Survivors include his wife, Irma Rose McNeil of Orange Beach; his mother, Dottie McNeil Curenton; daughters, Lavonda Faye (Roland) Deale, Angela McNeil, (her fiance Bryon) and Tonya Marie McNeil and their mother, Brenda L. McNeil; four granddaughters, two grandsons and two great-granddaughters.
Funeral services with military honors were held Wednesday, April 29 at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home. Burial followed at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Fort Knox, Ky.
Local arrangements were made by Mack Funeral Home, Robertsdale.
