Mary Lois Branch McSwain, 69, former resident of Robertsdale and a resident of of McDonough, Ga., died Tuesday, June 24, 2008.
She was born in Castleberry, to the Rev. James D. and Hazel Palmer Branch.
She retired from the Birmingham Board of Education, Bank of America, and Wachovia Bank and was a member of the Golden Springs Baptist Church in Anniston.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Frederick Branch.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, James Thurlon McSwain of McDonough; two sons, Michael (Elizabeth) McSwain of Lakeland, Fla., and Tony (Nana) McSwain of McDonough; four grandchildren, Lindsey, Jenifer, Sean, and Tiffany; four siblings, Mattie (Luther) Draughon of Wicksburg, Eddie (Annice) Branch of Semmes, Virginia Hammack of Slocomb and Cecil Branch of Taylor; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation begins at noon with funeral services at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2008 from the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Brother Tom Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
