Men killed in Mobile plane crash had Baldwin County ties

MOBILE, AL- Authorities have confirmed the identities of two men who are residents of Baldwin County.

Maj. David Mauritson of Fairhope was the pilot and Phil Dryden of Gulf Shores was the mission scanner. Officials said the pair was returning from Baton Rouge as volunteers on a compassion flight as members of the Alabama wing of the Civil Air Patrol.

They were bringing an individual to Baton Rouge who was going there to receive medical treatment.

Gulf Coast Media is pursing other information about the two county residents.
