DAPHNE, Ala. — Mercy Medical will host its 16th Annual Valentine Luncheon on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Marriott’s Grand Hotel. Doors will open at 10 a.m. with the program beginning at 11.

Mercy welcomes this year’s speaker, Sheila Chefetz, an expert on dining room tablescapes and author of Antiques for the Table. Chefetz will demonstrate her talent of creating exquisite table settings enhanced by the use of antiques. A book signing will be held immediately following the luncheon. All books purchased at the luncheon will benefit Mercy Medical.

Chefetz began her career as a fashion director for Gimbels in New York. For more than 30 years, she covered the European Collections Tour four times a year as part of her business. During her trips, she indulged in her passion for antiques. In 1989, she opened The Country Dining Room Antiques store in the Berkshires of Massachusetts. In 1993, she expanded her business and her love of antiques.

Individual reservations for the event are $65, and tables will accommodate 10 people. Sponsorship opportunities begin at $300 which includes tickets to the “Meet the Author” party to be held at a private residence on the bay in Daphne on Monday, Feb. 11. Proceeds from this years’ event will benefit Mercy Medical’s Guardian Angel program, which supports pediatric home care, as well as Mercy’s hospice program.

Reservations are still available, but seating is limited. For more information, please call the Mercy Medical Development Office at 621-4884.
