Merle Levine “Sis” Stewart, age 66, passed away on Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 in Bay Minette.
Stewart was a native and life long resident of Perdido. She attended the Fretwell Tabernacle Church and was a former employee of Manor Slacks and Vanity Fair. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Woodrow Stewart of Perdido; one son, Randy Aaron Stewart of Perdido; two daughters, Belinda Elizabeth (Wayne) Fails of Brewton, and Gina Stewart (Jesse) Reynolds of Ft. Benning, Ga; six brothers, Alex Hadley of Escawtba, Miss; Nip Hadley of Perdido, Buddy Hadley of Bay Minette, Wendell Hadley of Mobile, Pete Hadley of Perdido, and John Arthur Hadley of Mobile; one sister, Patricia Talmadge of Atmore, and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Fails, the Rev. Jesse Reynolds and Sis. Helen Stewart officiating. Burial followed at Dean Cemetery. Visitation was held Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 from 6-9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Danny Ray Taylor, Larry Peacock, Rev. Tony Floyd, Sammie Thomley, Kenny Hayles and Rev. Wendell Hadley. Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC in charge of all arrangement, Atmore.
