FAIRHOPE, Ala. — Mr. and Mrs. Donald James Mesler of Fairhope proudly announce the engagement of their daughter, Malynda Marlene Mesler, to Brady Bartholomew McLaughlin, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Robert “Bob” McLaughlin, also of Fairhope.

The bride-elect is a 2007 graduate of Fairhope High School and a 2011 graduate of Samford University in Birmingham, graduating summa cum laude. Malynda earned her bachelor’s degree in fine arts with an emphasis in graphic design. She studied abroad in London during the fall of 2010, where she also worked as an intern at a London-based graphic design firm. She is currently employed as the graphic designer for Millennial Solutions in Birmingham.

The future groom is a 2006 graduate of Fairhope High School and the University of South Alabama, receiving a certificate in emergency medicine. He is also a 2009 graduate of the University of Alabama-Birmingham, graduating magna cum laude with a degree in communication management. After college, Brady attended the Mobile Police Academy, where he was elected class president and finished top of the class. He is currently pursuing his juris doctorate at the Birmingham School of Law. Brady is employed as a law clerk for Riley & Jackson P.C. in Homewood, as well as a reserve deputy for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

The couple met in their high school Spanish class while seated in alphabetical order. Their courtship has been a testament of the love they find through Jesus Christ.

The wedding is scheduled for Sept. 24, 2011, in Lake Martin at the Children's Chapel.
