"3">Michael J. Brichta, 63, a resident of Spanish Fort, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011.
"3">Born on Sept. 20, 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of Michael John and Maymne Seger Brichta. Mr. Brichta was a retired Teamster and recently relocated to Spanish Fort from Palatine, Ill.
"3">He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving with the 77th Armor, 5th Division in Vietnam. He was a member of the Lutheran Church, American Legion and National Rifle Association. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman, who enjoyed woodworking.
"3">Survivors include his wife, Suzanne Frances Sack, Spanish Fort; his sons, Christian Brichta of Cleveland, Ohio and Jason (Brenda) Sadowski, Melbourne, Fla.; granddaughter, Elizabeth; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Cherise, Paul, Emily, Peter and Patrick, and other relatives and friends.
"3">Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 19, 2011 at Hughes Funeral Home in Daphne. The family will receive friends beginning at 6 p.m.
