Michael Shannon Simmons, 44, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014.
Michael was an avid biker, and he loved the Lord. He ministered to the homeless and he enjoyed praise and worship.
His life was all about Jesus. He was active in Rev Up 4 Hope Homeless Ministries, Underground Mobile, a teen music ministry, he held prayer groups in his home weekly and he was always surrounded by friends who loved him.
He worked at University of South Alabama Medical Center, where he was a member of the Local 505 Electrical Union.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Rawls Simmons; his sons, Michael (Tia) Mclain and Justin (Candice) Walker; daughters, Shannon Simmons, Allison “Peanut” Simmons and Brittnie (Issac) Kapua; his mother, Martha Voncile Peters; stepfather, Nicholas Peters Jr.; brothers, Thomas Jason “Scooter” (Tabitha) Simmons, Robert Bradley (Deborah) Simmons and Nicholas (Donna) Peters III; sisters, D. Kristine Borchardt and Monica Gayle (Darryl) Knight; and his five grandchildren, Luke Gavin Mclain, Brantley Odom, Tristan Kapua, Darrius Kapua and Alexis Walker.
