Mrs. Mildred Nelson Barnhill, age 96, was a native of Barnwell, Alabama and a resident of Loxley, Alabama. She passed away on Jan. 1, 2022.
Mrs. Barnhill was the consummate homemaker. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother to her entire family. Others also looked to her as a second mom. Mrs. Barnhill was gifted with baking skills, and she was known for her delicious pound cakes. She was an active member of the Loxley United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Barnhill was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Maston Barnhill and is survived by her children, Thomas Maston Barnhill, Jr. (Sylvia), Glen Barnhill (Joy), Frances Brueggemann, Susan Sinclair (Anthony), Greg Barnhill (Glee); sister, Mary Kelley; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Private family graveside services were held Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, at 10 a.m. from the Greenwood Cemetery, Loxley, Alabama with Rev. Jim Batchelor officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Loxley United Methodist Church, 1062 South Cypress Street, Loxley, AL 36551.
