Arnold B. Miller, 90, a resident of Weaver, died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009 at his residence.

He was a graduate of Albertville High School and he served in the CCC then in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II on the USCG Sobago.

He graduated from the University Of Alabama School Of Law, after which he served in practice with his wife in Robertsdale then in Huntsville at the U.S. Missile Command.

Upon retirement he moved to Foley and served as president and lieutenant governor of Optimist International, Commissioner of the Boy Scouts of America, Mobile Council. Then he made his home in Weaver until his death.

He was preceded in death by wife, Shirley Seale Miller, two sons, George Michael Miller and John Anthony Joseph Miller, three sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include three sons, Patrick (Bettye) Miller of Anniston, Timothy Miller of Huntsville and Daniel Miller of Weaver; daughter, Mary Miller of Weaver; one granddaughter, Jessica (Carlos) Ehler; two great-grandsons, Tyler and Michael; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16 at McRae Funeral Home in Boaz. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009 at Blessing Church of Christ. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be members of family and friends.

The family requests memorial donations be made to The Boy Scouts of America.
