James Calvin Miller, 59, of Silverhill, died Monday, May 26, 2008. He was born Dec. 8, 1948 in Mobile.
After many years away from the Gulf Coast, he returned with his wife of 25 years Elizabeth and daughter, Katie, to Gulf Shores, to live the life he dreamed about.
He was active in various community activities throughout his life, including coaching youth softball in the Birmingham area. He was well known among the Gulf Coast community for his restaurant Jim’s Roundback, that he ran with his wife, and daughter, Katie.
He had recently downsized, to enjoy life, opening the Roundback Sandwich Shop in Foley.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Miller; two daughters, Katie Miller of Gulf Shores and Heather Miller of San Francisco; son, Trae Miller of Mobile; sister, Cindy (Steve) Jones of Silverhill; nephews, Marc Jones of Foley and Micah Jones of Milton, Fla.; mother, Virgie Miller.
Visitation will be held at 5 p.m. with A memorial service at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 29 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, 2551 McKenzie St., Foley.
