Salliellen Bowling Milner, 77, a native of Corbin, Ky., and a resident of Fairhope, died peacefully Sunday, July 26, 2009 in the home of her daughter.
A true caregiver and member of Daughters of the King, she was a graduate of the Nazareth School of Nursing in Lexington, Ky., and went on to gain her B.A. in Health Services from Columbia College, Columbia, S.C.
She was a nurse in several fields of medicine and ultimately retired as a psychiatric nurse for St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fla.
She was a devoted mother and beloved grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Richard W. Milner, and her oldest son, Bill Halbert Jr.
Survivors include a daughter, Lucy (Dan) Sundbeck; two sons, David Halbert, Stuart (Cathy) Halbert; four grandchildren; Sally, Sam, and Daniel Sundbeck, and Kimberly Halbert.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15 at St. Catherine’s Episcopal Church, Jacksonville, Fla.
The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Catherine’s Episcopal Church, 4758 Shelby Ave., Jacksonville, FL 32099.
