GULF SHORES, Ala. — The Mystical Order of Mirams recently shared toys donated by the attendees of their Taste of the Islands event with the Christian Service Center Christmas Cheer Program.
The program ensures that children who would not otherwise receive a Christmas gift are very happy on Christmas morning. Delivering the toys were Mirams President Tonia Turner, Historian/Parliamentarian Deena Montgomery and Terri Long. On hand to accept the toys from the Mirams were CSC President, Linda Chappelle and Food Pantry Chair, Stan Moss.
The Mirams’ website states, “We love our community and strive to give back as much as possible. With every event we host, we give generous donations to a charity that we choose. We love to keep our donations local when we can.”
The center would like say a "thank you Mirams, from the children of Gulf Shores, Orange Beach and Fort Morgan!" Chappelle said.
In its 21st year, the Christian Service Center is a "Hand Up" rather than a "Hand Out" agency. Clients are given immediate emergency aid as well as guidance on finding solutions to problems. The CSC is a 100% volunteer agency funded by the churches of Pleasure Island, various community organizations, including the United Way of Baldwin County, and interested individuals.
