FOLEY, Ala. — The fourth annual Turkey Take-Out is now in the history books. Hundreds of volunteers and donors came together to provide Thanksgiving dinner and groceries to more than 1,000 South Baldwin residents in need.

The endeavor also consisted of volunteers descending on the Foley Elementary School headquarters as early as 5 a.m. Wednesday to spend the day smoking 150 full turkeys for the meals that were delivered Thanksgiving morning. Wednesday’s portion of the project also included sorting loading nonperishable items that were collected throughout the month of November.

On Thursday, the site was filled with additional helpers gearing up to finalize and deliver the food by lunchtime.
