SUBJECT TAUGHT: Digital Resource Advisor

SOMETHING UNUSUAL ABOUT YOURSELF: I have a twin sister, Kristy Weatherford. She’s the librarian at Delta Elementary School, and I always have little kids running up to me and hugging me all the time; they think I’m her.

Misty Morries has been teaching at Baldwin County High School for 15 years. She began her career at BCHS teaching world history and government/economics. Last year she took a position as the Digital Resource Advisor at the school.

“I’m the onsite troubleshooter for technology and the Macs,” Morries says. “I was the school technology coordinator while I still taught history, and this job came open and I took it.”

Morries has “Help Desk” students that assist her with the computers. She teaches her students basic troubleshooting techniques and how to use Apple software (iMovie, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), so they can teach other students who come to the Help Desk.

When Morries isn’t in the classroom, she is active in her church, reads and loves to travel. Australia is the farthest she has traveled, and London is her favorite city to visit.

“I’ve visited London probably seven times,” Morries says. “My goal though, is to visit all seven continents. I’ve been to three.”
