DAPHNE, Ala.—The Toro Touchdown Club in conjunction with the Eastern Shore MMA will host mixed-martial-arts-style cage fights and a Halloween after-party at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Daphne Civic Center.

General admission to both events is $40. The event’s proceeds will support Spanish Fort High School’s football teams.

“We’re keeping nothing. Every dime made will go to the Toro Touchdown Club,” Nelson Berry, co-owner of Eastern Shore MMA said. “It’s for youth athletics in the Spanish Fort area.”

The charity cage fights begins at 3 p.m. and the after-party begins around 8 p.m. There will be alcohol at the after-party, an adult-only event that will comprise costume events, food and music.

“It’ll be a wonderful time,” Berry said.

“It’ll be a great fundraiser and Eastern Shore MMA is very proud to help out.”

This is the first year Eastern Shore MMA had partnered with Spanish Fort athletics to present a charity event.

“My company has been doing fights in the Baldwin County area for a couple of years,” Berry said. “We were looking at new ways to raise money and raise funds. MMA is the fasted growing sport in the world.

“We do weigh-ins. We check the credentials of fighters. It’s not a ‘show up and fight’ (situation) like at other events. We do it right.”

Tickets are available at Eastern Shore MMA.
