Elmer Cary Mixon, 85, a native of Repton and a resident of Bay Minette, died Monday, March 1, 2010 at William F. Green State Veteran’s Home.
He was a retired parts manager at Brookley Field; served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War; and was a member and past master of Bay Minette Lodge No. 498, F&AM.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Dwight and Doug Mixon; and his grandson, Vince Rook.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Moorer Mixon of Bay Minette; son, Cary Wendell “Bubba” Mixon of Decatur; two daughters, Barbara Rook and Peggy Gibson, both of Bay Minette; nine grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 5 from the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with the Rev. Wendell Hadley and the Rev. Deek Dubberly officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery. Masonic rites will be rendered at graveside.
Pallbearers are Bubba Rook, Jason Shipp, Rodney Shipp, Bryan Rook, Chase Byrd ad Colton Byrd.
