FAIRHOPE, Alabama --- The Maids of Jubilee plotted their 2012 Mardi Gras event as deftly as author Ian Fleming and delivered an entertaining parade Friday night, sneaking it in before bad weather could snatch it from their grasp.
The clear sky and mild temperatures resulted in a large crowd of supporters for the 28th parade for the MOJs, the oldest female parading mystic organization in Baldwin County.
The ladies successfully entered and ruled The World of Bond – James Bond and took the crowds down movieland memory lane, all the while plying them with MoonPies, silver doubloons and glittering beads. In addition to their lovely emblem and jubilee float, the MOJs paid tribute to: “Dr. No,” “From Russia with Love,” “Thunderball,” “Diamonds are Forever,” "Live and Let Die” and Moonraker,
