Thomas James “Jim” Moyer, 76, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009.
Originally from Chicago and then from Atlanta, he found the loving and friendly town of Fairhope with his wife Diane, and knew it was home. His battle with cancer cut short his golden years, but the memories with family and very special friends will go on forever. His quiet hardworking and loving nature will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Diane Moyer of Fairhope; son, Fran (Kathy) Moyer of Atlanta; daughter, Kathy (David) Poole of Snellville, Ga.; two grandchildren, Spencer and Sydney Poole of Snellville; three sisters, Mary Ann Griffin of Park Ridge, Ill., Colleen Boratto of Wood Dale, Ill., Maureen Barsocchi of Rolling Meadows, Ill.; and two special friends, Gene and Susan Tillman of Fairhope.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 13 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Fairhope.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
