Mr. Billy Virgil Franklin passed away on Nov. 21, 2015.
Mr. Franklin was born in Uriah, Ala. and was a resident of Miflin, Ala.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dock Franklin; mother, Idell Franklin; his two sons, Bill Franklin Jr. and Michael Franklin; four brothers; and four sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Willene “Honey” Franklin; brother, Rex Franklin; two stepsons, Frank (Dena) McKenzie and Robert (Janet McKenzie); five grandchildren, Dustin (Windie) Franklin, Candace (Adam) Pickering, Christia (Daniel) Waldrop, Keenan Scott and Caleb Bass; and seven great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard for 20 years. He worked for Riviera Utilities for 44 years before retiring.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, woodworking, fishing and traveling.

The visitation will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015 at 1 p.m., and the service will follow at 2 at Pine Rest Funeral Home and Pine Rest Memorial Park.
