Mr. Richard Daniel Carmack

Mr. Richard Daniel Carmack, a native of Meridian, Miss. and a resident of Foley, Ala. died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016.

Mr. Carmack served his country in the United States Coast Guard for 25 years, followed by another eight years of service in the United States Air Force and Navy. His service consisted of foreign and domestic duty in which he was most proud of.

After discharge, the American Legion was his priority to remain in contact with veterans like himself. The “Legion” is where he shared his talent for singing and playing billiards with friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Eldridge Carmack, Laura Elaine Carmack; and two brothers, Cliffton and Edward Carmack.

Mr. Carmack is survived by his loving bride, Peggy Ann Carmack; one son, Scott Lee ( Lisa) Carmack; and daughter, Penny Denice (Stephen) Jordan.

Other survivors include his sister, Rita Catchot; four grandchildren, Christopher Warren Carmack, Ryan Lee Carmack, Stephanie Denice Stephenson, Kevin Andrew Palmer; three great-grandchildren, Brooklynn Denice Stephenson, Brandice Denice Stephenson and Caleb Daniel Stephenson.

Memorial services for Richard Carmack will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016 at Foley’s American Legion Post 99 at 1 p.m.

Memorial donations may be given to the American Legion Post 99, 2101 S. McKenzie St., Foley, AL 36535.

Richard was loved, and will be missed my many friends and family.
