MRC Herman Ozga, USNR RET., age 79, native of Illinois and resident of Fairhope passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013.
He retired from the U.S. Navy with 40 years of service. Mr. Ozga was a member, Eucharistic Minister and Lector at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Mr. Ozga was a member of the Mobile Society of Model Engineers, life member of US Naval Institute and HNSA. He was a past president of the Holy Name Society and was on the financial board at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit, Ill. He is survived by his wife, Barbara R. Ozga of Fairhope; brother, Richard (Nancy) Ozga of Scottsdale, Ariz; a sister, Judith (Darrell) Herbst of Wilton, CT; a niece, two nephews, three great-nephews and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 1 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass.
