Mrs. Eula Mae Connell Scheinert, 89, passed away late Sunday night, May 17, 2015 at her residence, 9350 Crawford Road, Elberta, Ala., with her children at her side.
Mrs. Scheinert was born April 8, 1926 to William Henry Connell and Florence Irene Curl Connell in Garden City, Cullman County, Ala. On June 15, 1946, “Eulie” married William Fred Scheinert in Cullman, Ala., and they made their home in the rural area of White City, and began their lives as farmers, raising their children.
In October of 1963, Bill and Eulie took the family to live in Baldwin County, Ala. Upon retiring, Eulie went with Bill in May 1984 to Ridgway, Colo., where they began the biggest adventure of their married life — meeting and making new friends, hunting and fishing, Bill working on a ranch, while Eulie tested her “green thumb” growing beautiful flowers for all to enjoy.
Eula was a homemaker all her life, but loved to fish, work in her yard, and being with her beloved Bill, riding a horse or in the K5 Blazer seeing what was around the next curve or over the next mountain, but most of all — Eula loved her children and grandson.
In April 2007, Eulie and Bill came back home to Alabama to live our the rest of their lives in Elberta, next door to their daughter and son-in-law, with their son and grandson nearby.
Eula Mae was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William Fred Scheinert; their chidren, David Frank Scheinert and Patricia Ann Scheinert; and her parents.
Eula Mae is survived by two children, Eric Fred Scheinert (Wanda) and Rebekah Henrietta Younce (Lonnie), both of Elberta, Ala.; one grandson, Michael Eric Scheinert (Tina); three great-grandchildren, Mahaley Grace and William Gregory Scheinert of Summerdale, Ala., Alicia Bean; and one great-great-grandson; and one niece, Carolym Seibert Bennett of Gulf Shores.
Graveside services will be at Cullman City Cemetery in Cullman, Ala. on Friday, May, 22, 2015 at 1 p.m., with Leslie Hudson, cousin to Eula, officiating.
Special thanks to Springhill Hospice nurse, Marla, and aide, Dianne — “Pokey,” for taking such good care of our Mom and helping Mom’s family.
