Mrs. Lorraine Nelson Benton, a native of Barnwell, Ala. and longtime resident of Bon Secour, Ala., passed away on March 23, 2016 at the age of 88.
Mrs. Benton was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Benton Sr.
Mrs. Benton is survived by one son, Thomas H. (Martha) Benton Jr. of Mobile, Ala.; two daughters, Deborah (Shane) Lee of Marion, Ala. and Charlotte (David) Plumb of Bon Secour, Ala.; seven grandchildren, Thomas H. Benton III, Olivia M. Benton and Isabella G. Benton of Mobile, Ala., William Benton Lee and Margaret A. Lee of Marion, Ala., Caroline (Blaine) Cook of Magnolia Springs, Ala. and Caitlin Plumb of Bon Secour, Ala.; one great-grandchild, Holden T. Cook of Magnolia Springs, Ala.; one brother, Peter Nelson of Barnwell, Ala.; and two sisters, Mildred (Matson) Barnhill of Loxley, Ala. and Mary (Lamar) Kelley of Barnwell, Ala.
Lorraine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by many.

Funeral services will be held graveside at Pine Rest Memorial Park in Foley, Ala. Monday, March 28, 2016 at noon.
