Leona Harbison Mund, 92, a native of Bayou La Batre and a resident of Oyster Bay, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009 at Robertsdale Health Care Center.
She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Bon Secour, where she was active with the women of the church, a Sunday School and Bible School teacher. She was a member of the Order Of The Eastern Star, theAmerican Legion Post 44 Ladies Auxiliary and the VFW.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Mund; son, Tommy Mund; grandson, Matthew Bemis; and great-grandson, Justin Brannan.
Survivors inclue three daughters, Bobbi Bemis, Mary Lou Bemis, Pete Overshiner, all of Gulf Shores; son, Robert “Frog” Mund of Fish River; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Bon Secour with Father Scott Trotter officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter' Cemetery.
The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Youth Group.
