Maysie Blacksher Hill Murray, 87, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008 at her home in Point Clear.
A native and long-time resident of Mobile, she moved with her family to the Eastern Shore in 1922 and resided there until her death.
She graduated from Murphy High School in Mobile, and afterwards attended the King Smith School for ladies in Washington D.C.
She was a talented portrait artist and avid gardener with a love of adventure and full of compassion for others.
She was preceded in death by her adored husband, Richard Murray, and their son Richard Murray Jr.
Survivors include a brother John Jeptha (Mary) Hill of Mobile; two daughters, Alice Craig (Albert) Key of Point Clear and Ella Hill (Ian) Macpherson of Battles Wharf; 15 loving grandchildren, Marian (Parker Payson) Macpherson, Murray Macpherson (Michael) Douglas, Ritchie (Virginia) Macpherson, Ian (Consuelo) Macpherson, Watt (Katie) Key, Betsy (Eric) Anderton, Alice Key, Reid (Kristin) Key, Murray Key, Thomas (Liz) Key, David Key, Shelby (Chris) Murphree, Josh Murray, Joe Murray, and Chris (Jessica) Smith; and 18 great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
