BAY MINETTE, Ala. — The week of March 16 was full of activities — line-dancing, computer class, art class, games, as well as bridge.

Also the bus trip on March 19 to Stage Coach for lunch. A beautiful day for an outing. Dutch Treat.

Hope you were at the Senior Breakfast, March 25 at 8 a.m. (always fourth Wednesday of the month) for pancakes. They have some good cooks who like to get it all together.

Spring has sprung in all its splendor. The First Baptist Senior Travelers will be off March 27 to the museum in Mobile. (Tickets $10.) Bus will leave at 10:30 a.m. from church parking lot.

Meanwhile, back at the Senior Center after Art Class (9-12 noon), bridge will start at 1 p.m. til?

Movie Nite will start with the social hour at 5 p.m. (sub-sandwiches treat). Movie-of-the-month, “Ladies in Lavender” with Judi Dench and Maggie Smith will begin at 6 p.m. Ladies don’t forget your lavender.

Hard to believe we are winding down the first quarter of the New Year. Drop by the Senior Center and see the changing of the tree. You might want to wear your Easter bonnet. I think there is a song about that? While you are there, sign up for the Flower Arranging and/or Bowmaking Class. If there is enough interest the classes will be on Thursday from 10-11 a.m.

We are ending up March which came in like a lion and should go out like a lamb. The Seniors would like to wish all March birthdays a Happy Birthday and for those we know: Happy Birthday to: Eugenia Trawick, 2; Roy Hallman, 4; Thelma Watson and Amelia Huggins, 7; Frauline Harrison, 9; Zelmer Blankenship, 10; Betty Woehl and Mildred Walter, 12; Lillian White, 15; Woodie Williams and Floyd Dade, 22; Alice Quinley and Sarah Pendleton, 24; Doris Brantley and Hattie Scruggs, 25; and James Watts 29.

What a wonderful month to be born in! Welcomed by the flowers of Spring. Hope your day was special for you.

Thought for the week: Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.

— Ralph Waldo Emerson

May God bless you and keep you until we meet again!
