It’s time to get out the picnic blankets and lawn chairs and head to Heritage Park as Music and a Movie continues through June. The popular Foley event kicks off at 4 p.m. with Heritage Park Marketplace, which will remain open from 4 to 7 p.m., providing a variety of arts and crafts as well as herbs, plants, vegetables, fruits, baked goods, jellies, candy and gift items. Live entertainment begins at 6 p.m., followed by a family-friendly movie around dusk. The marketplace and Music and a Movie will continue every Friday through June 19.
“With school out, Music and a Movie is a great evening of fun and free entertainment for families looking for things to do this summer,” said Linda Hula, event planner with the city of Foley. “We have a great entertainment line-up this year including the Baldwin Pops band, Christina Christian Duo, Kyle and Karl Band and the Coastal Chorale. Folks may bring a picnic or purchase concessions on-site. Everyone is encouraged to come early to enjoy the market and then get comfortable for the free entertainment and a movie under the stars,” Hula said.
The family-oriented event is presented each year by the city of Foley and generously supported by the community. Heritage Park is located near the intersection of Ala. 59 and U.S. 98 in Foley.
