DAPHNE, Ala.—‘Music Under the Stars’ is back this weekend but at a new location, outside of City Hall. The free two-night concert runs from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
In years past, the event has been held at the Daphne Civic Center, but organizers decided the lawn of the newly-built City Hall would be a more inviting atmosphere.
“It is usually held in the Plaza right outside the Recreation Department,” recreation programs coordinator Megan Matrone White said. “However, the mayor thought it would be a great idea to have City Hall as a backdrop and to bring the event closer to downtown businesses.”
The event features live music from The Powerhouse Band and Flite Time on Saturday; Lil Greenwood and the Dan McMillion Band will play Sunday.
Guests are encouraged to bring their own seating. Downtown restuaraunts and businesses will open to serve food and beverages.
