JOHN UNDERWOOD/Staff Photos ROBERTSDALE, Alabama --- Amelia Rhodes, 17, and Hannah Rhodes, 16, daughters of Don and Stephanie Rhodes of Silverhill, gave a demonstration with Dr. Cindi Brasfield at the Baldwin County Fairgrounds Arena Tuesday. The Silverhill teens are members of the Mustang Heritage Foundation’s Youth Employment Program. With the help of Brasfield Amelia Rhodes is part of the 12-week work-from-home program and is also taking 120 days to gentle and train a wild mustang. They will both compete, Rhodes with her horse Mindy, in a youth division, and Brasfield, with her horse Top Line, in an adult division, in competition next month in Fort Worth,Texas, where the horses will be auctioned off. Brasfield, a resident of Robertsdale, has worked as a practicing veterinarian and now works for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. As part of her duties she helps with the roundup of wild mustangs, caring for the animals and providing information for relocation and training. In 2010 she participated in the 100 Mustangs, 100 Trainers, 100 Days Extreme Mustang Makeover training the horse Top Notch. Hannah Rhodes has been researching and writing about the past, present and future of the American mustangs and presented her findings at Tuesday’s demonstration.
