Nathan Oswald White, 79, born in Perdido, and a resident of Naples, Fla., died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011, at a local hospital in Naples, Fla.

For many years he worked in the Mobile County Courthouse as a real estate appraiser. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by three sisters, Mary Louise Smith of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Pauline Smith of White House Fork and Shirley Bryars of Perdido; two brothers, David White of Kewadin, Mich., and Victor White of Bay Minette.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Crockett David White and Marie Elizabeth Bryars White; his brothers, Herman and George Hamp White, Frank, Nolan and Willie White; and his sisters, Mona Inez White and Amelia Huggins.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, at 11 a.m., at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Bryars-McGill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, Aug. 26, from 10 a.m. until the service begins.
