Nathan Smith Gorrell Jr., 90, a native of Detroit, Mich. and resident of Foley, died Sunday, December 29, 2013.
Mr. Gorrell was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Doris M. Gorrell; and daughter, Mary Surbrook.
He is survived by his daughter, Lois Schmidt of Foley; son, David Gorrell of Florida; daughters, Martha Law and Audrey Mausolf of Michigan; son, Paul Gorrell of Arkansas; daughter, Doris Jotzke of Michigan; sister, Vera Clappe of Canada; sister, Elsie King of Michigan; special friend, Mary “Lib” Thompson of Foley; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for Mr. Gorrell will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014 at Live Oak Assisted Living Center, Foley.
