download and features

an interactive map, attractions listings, videos and more.

"We are excited about this outstanding new

marketing tool," Byway Coordinator Colette Boehm said of the app.

“Trends are showing us that more and more visitors are using this

technology both to plan their trip and while they’re visiting. What

a great way to give them the information they need while they’re

actually out enjoying the byway!”

It is the latest rollout of byway marketing

tools, which include ads, a

website, brochure and

signage that have been developed over the last two years through

grant funding from the Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA)

National Scenic Byway Program.

"These are all effective tools for promoting

the businesses and natural resources along the route and giving

visitors the information they need in whatever form is most useful

to them," Boehm said.

The marketing materials were designed by

Global Marketing Solutions, LLC, (GMS)

working with the byway’s marketing committee. Representatives from

Bellingrath Gardens, Dauphin Island Chamber of Commerce, Dauphin

Island Park and Beach Board, Dauphin Island Sea Lab, Eastern Shore

Chamber of Commerce, Foley CVB and Gulf Shores & Orange Beach

Tourism served on the committee for design and implementation of

the materials.

“The committee was dedicated to, and GMS has

been an invaluable partner in,” Boehm said, “designing and

implementing marketing elements that both represent all facets of

the byway well and meet the needs of today’s traveler.”

The byway was honored with a state designation

in 2004 and became a National Scenic Byway in 2009. To learn more
